Marc Berthier trained at the Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 1967, he was behind a small revolution in the field of design, creating the very first collection of affordable plastic furniture: this was the famous Ozoo collection, the children's desks from which were purchased by the City of Créteil. His creations have won him numerous awards, most notably the Prix Gabriel, the médaille de l'Art et de l'industrie (France), and the New York Accent Design. He has also won the grand prix national de la Création industrielle. Marc Berthier is a reference point in the field of design, with pieces in the collections of all the museums of modern art, most notably the Museum of modern Art in New York and the musée national d'Art moderne in France. Alongside his design work he also works are an architect and lectures in design.
